What is SealDrop?
SealDrop is a secure way for Canadian businesses to collect documents and form answers from clients and patients. You send a link; they upload from any phone or computer; you download, file it in your own system, and SealDrop deletes it.
Who is it for?
Clinics and healthcare practitioners (physio, chiropractic, dental, counselling and more), law firms, immigration consultants, insurance and mortgage brokers, realtors, accountants — any business that asks people for ID, records or signed forms.
Where is the information stored?
In Canada: SealDrop stores and processes it in Amazon Web Services’ Montréal region, encrypted at rest and in transit.
Do my clients need an account or an app?
No. They only need the link they receive by email or text, and can upload photos straight from a phone camera.
Is SealDrop PIPEDA compliant?
There is no official PIPEDA certification for software. SealDrop is built to help businesses meet their obligations under PIPEDA and provincial privacy laws such as BC PIPA: data stored in Canada, automatic deletion, two-step sign-in, an audit log, and a data processing agreement that makes SealDrop your service provider.
How long are files kept?
Until you mark them filed, a set time after download, or if unclaimed — never longer than 35 days. Names and contact details are deleted 90 days after a request closes.
